Get your computer or laptop cleaned right now!

If your computer or laptop runs more than average 4hrs a day WE recommend to get it clean at least every 4 months.

Don't expose yourself, your family or your employees to health or fire risks.

My first computer was a second-hand 386. It worked without a glitch for a few months and I left it on all day long, although not in my clay
workplace. One day I smelt burning plastic and went to check it. Smoke
was billowing out of the monitor. I unplugged everything and once it had
all cooled down I opened up the monitor to find that all the components
were covered in a thick layer of dust which had caught fire. Amazingly
enough, once I had thoroughly cleaned everything, the monitor functioned as before, and 4 years later it is still being used on a 'spare' computer.
So beware of any kind of dust (this was the 'fluffy' kind, more inflammable than clay, I suppose).

Is it not enough for you?

According to new research into chemical residue found in the dust collecting on computers and other electronics devices, the PC that you're using to read this story could pose a long-term threat to your health.

In a report published by Clean Production Action and the Computer TakeBack Campaign, two groups studying environmental and health issues related to computers, researchers contend that potentially dangerous elements of brominated fire retardants are turning up in dust samples from computers. The research indicates that the most commonly found example of these substances, widely used fire prevention compounds known as polybrominated diphenyl ethers, or PBDEs, have been found to cause health problems in lab animals.

It attacks your computer like the South American army ant. Tiny, harmless looking critters by themselves, in larger numbers they can cover, kill and dissolve a full grown cow in a matter of hours.

Okay, maybe not exactly like that. But, wood shop and machine shop owners are experiencing the devastating effect manufacturing dust can have inside their shop computers. And they are looking for answers.

It doesn't take much to ruin your day, especially, when metallic dust meets sensitive electronic components. Electricity chooses to travel in the shortest route possible, and little bridges of metal dust make great short cuts. Zap! WRRrrrrrr...

And wood dust makes a great insulating blanket. That's okay if you're lost in a big wood bin and freezing to death, but to a hard working computer it can be bad news. Heat sinks and fans attempt to dissipate the heat from within your computer, but a layer of dust can reduce or prevent this transfer of heat. Also, computer fans can malfunction when dust and grime are allowed to build up.

Things heat up. Computers die. Data is lost. Business suffers.
